Project overview

As part of a large-scale infrastructure project, a comprehensive assessment and refurbishment of Terminal 2 at Frankfurt Airport is being carried out. The aim of the project is the qualitative analysis and modernization of the terminal's technical systems and equipment in order to optimize them for future requirements. The project includes the evaluation of low-current systems such as fire alarm systems, display panels, door controls and other technical equipment. Planning is carried out dynamically in close coordination with the customer, taking tight schedules into account.)

Project details

Technical challenges

Limited storage space and high logistical effort require precise construction scheduling. The use of a specialized logistics tool is being examined in order to meet the requirements.

Methodology

The project relies on a combination of Lean Construction Management (LCM) and Building Information Modeling (BIM). These methods ensure efficient planning and visualization of complex processes.

Advantages of LCM: User-friendly interface for everyone involved. Dynamic adaptation to changing requirements. Clear visualization of trades and processes.

Additional measures:

Weekly reviews and previews to ensure transparency. Structuring of 26 sub-trades into eight main groups for a clear presentation.

conclusion

The ongoing sub-project “Inventory Assessment Terminal 2" already shows lcmd's potential for structured planning of complex tasks. The clear structuring of the trades and dynamic planning offer a promising approach for inventory. lcmd's intuitive user interface enables efficient collaboration between all parties involved in this sub-area. The planned completion of the inventory assessment will reveal the full potential of using lcmd in this specific project phase.
